The Man is always up to his dirty little
tricks. Let's take a step back and review The Man and the fight
against Him in history:
January 16:
1893 - Hawaii: Queen Lilluokalani's
regime is overthrown by pineapple tycoon Sanford Dole and sugar
interests. U.S. troops land "to protect U.S. interests." With
U.S. support, Dole declares himself Hawaii's president and lobbies
for U.S. annexation.
1980 - Pinched by The Man - Paul McCartney jailed in
Tokyo for 10 days on marijuana possession.
1984 - Heck, this was practically an anniversary! (See

McCartney arrested in Barbados-possession of "da herb".
January 21:
1994 - That white she devil Lorena Bobbitt was found
temporarily insane for chopping off spouse's penis.
January 22:
1991 - Fourteen ACT-UP AIDS activists are arrested disrupting
CBS, NBC and PBS evening news broadcasts with "Fight AIDS, not
Arabs" banners.
2002 - Credit Suisse First Boston Corp. agreed to pay
$100 million for taking millions of dollars from customers in inflated
commissions in exchange for allocations of "hot" initial public

January 23:
1870 - 173 Blackfoot Indians (140 women & children)
killed in Montana by U.S. Army
January 24:
1921 - Death of Cap'n Streeter, Chicago. His scow ran
aground on a sandbar in Lake Michigan on the Chicago waterfront. The
wreck caused the sandbar to grow, marshland filled it in, and Streeter
proclaimed it a free district open to the poor and homeless. He successfully
defended his territory against Chicago cops and developers until his
death.
January 25:
1988 - What's the frequency Kenneth? Vice President and
minion of The Man George Bush Sr. and Dan
Rather clash on "CBS
Evening News" as Rather attempts to question Bush about his
role in the Iran-Contra affair.
January 26:
1998 - President Bill "Freak-Wild" Clinton says "I
want to say one thing to the American people, I did not have sexual
relations
with
that woman,
Miss Lewinsky".
January 27:
1957 - For the second time in a year, Martin Luther King,
Jr.'s home is bombed.
January 30:
1956 - Martin Luther King, Jr.'s home is bombed.
January 31:
1989 - Vice President Dan Quayle reveals what people have
known for years, reported in Esquire, 8/92. "We expect them [Salvadoran
officials] to work toward the elimination of human rights in accordance
with the pursuit of Justice."
